The mall’s new child care center will be a state-of-the-art facility with an exciting, child-friendly environment. The proposed location for the center is comprised of two existing retail spaces. One space is approximately 9,000 square feet; the other space is about 6,000 square feet for a total of about 15,000 square feet. The larger space will be used for classrooms and support functions, while the smaller space will be used as a play area and potentially a computer lab.

The child care center will accommodate about 127 children, ranging in age from 2– 5 years. The center will hold a dining area for 20 people, a laundry room, a room for administrators, break rooms, and conference rooms. The center will most likely be used by employees who work in the mall as well as parents who live nearby. Based on an anticipated square footage cost of approximately $50 per square foot multiplied by 15,000 square feet, the project may cost approximately $750,000.
